Trinity Lutheran Church is a Lutheran church in San Pedro, California, proclaiming the Gospel of grace through Word and Sacrament. The congregation gathers for worship, education, and service in the Lutheran tradition.
Our Faith
We believe the Bible is true, trustworthy, and a reliable authority, just as Jesus treated the Scriptures. Scripture consistently and clearly points to Jesus, and it is the foundation for everything we believe.
The core heartbeat of the Bible is the Gospel: Jesus' death and resurrection for you. This gracious promise is received by trusting faith, for by grace we are saved through faith, and this is not our own doing but the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).
We joyfully confess the historic Creeds of the church—the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian—as the timeless statements of what Christians believe. Together with the Lutheran Confessions, they faithfully summarize the teaching of Scripture.
We believe God delivers His grace to us through the means of grace, including Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. As taught in Luther's Small Catechism, these sacraments are how God gives and strengthens faith.
We believe the Holy Spirit is an essential Person of the Triune God who is received when we come to faith. The Spirit works through Word and Sacrament to bring people to trust in Christ and to live as His people.
We believe Christians are called to lives of prayer, grounded in the way Jesus taught us to pray. A simple prayer like Luther's 'I am yours, save me' captures our daily dependence on God's grace and our response to His commandments.
Visiting Our Parish
Parking is available near the sanctuary. Arrive a few minutes early and a greeter will be glad to point you to the entrance.
Children are warmly welcomed. Trinity offers Catechism for 4th–6th graders, the God Rocks! Kids Choir, TSP Kids, Stepping Stones, and a summer Vacation Bible School.
New here? Look for the 'I'm New' welcome and expect a friendly greeting. Sunday worship follows the historic liturgy: we praise together, confess our sins and our faith, share Christ's peace with one another, and spend ample time hearing God's Word. Gatherings are at 9:30 am and 5:00 pm, with the 9:30 am service also livestreamed.
The sanctuary welcomes worshipers of every mobility and sensory need. Reach out before your visit and the team will gladly help with accessible seating, hearing assistance, or anything else.
Stay after worship for coffee and fellowship — a cherished Lutheran tradition — and a relaxed chance to meet others and ask any questions.
