Terms and conditions for using PewSearch and its premium services.

By using PewSearch (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. PewSearch is operated by ChurchWiseAI LTD (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. If you are using the Service on behalf of a church or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
PewSearch is a free church directory covering the United States and Canada, with over 218,000 church listings. The Service allows visitors to search for churches by location, denomination, and other criteria. Churches may claim their listing and optionally subscribe to one of our paid tiers: a Premium Page ($9.95 USD/month) for an enhanced directory presence including custom descriptions, photos, service times, and staff information, or a Pro Website ($19.95 USD/month) which includes everything in Premium plus a full one-page church website hosted at churchname.pewsearch.com.
PewSearch may include AI-powered features such as chatbot assistants embedded on church pages. These features are provided by ChurchWiseAI LTD and are subject to the following terms.
You are interacting with AI, not a human
AI chatbot responses are generated by artificial intelligence, not by church staff or PewSearch employees. Users should be aware they are interacting with AI at all times.
Informational purposes only
AI-generated responses are for informational purposes only and may not be perfectly accurate. The chatbot does not provide pastoral counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or professional guidance of any kind. The chatbot reflects information provided by the church (service times, staff, location, etc.), but the accuracy of that information depends on the church keeping their listing current.
Crisis situations
In crisis situations, the chatbot will attempt to provide appropriate crisis helpline information, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US and Canada). If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call or text 988 immediately or contact emergency services.
No liability for AI responses
ChurchWiseAI LTD is not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated responses. Churches are responsible for monitoring their chatbot interactions and ensuring appropriate configuration of the chatbot for their congregation.
PewSearch and ChurchWiseAI LTD reserve the right to modify, disable, or remove AI-powered features at any time without notice.
To claim a church listing or subscribe to a Premium Page or Pro Website, you must provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to represent the church you are claiming.
PewSearch includes church information sourced from public databases. If your church is listed and you have not claimed it, the information is based on publicly available data.
When you claim your church listing, you represent that you are authorized to do so. You agree to provide accurate information about your church. We reserve the right to remove listings that contain false or misleading information, or that do not represent a legitimate place of worship.

PewSearch offers two paid tiers: Premium Page at $9.95 USD/month and Pro Website at $19.95 USD/month. All subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your church dashboard or by contacting us.
Preview Period: New subscribers may preview their church page for 48 hours before being charged. If cancelled during this preview period, no charge is applied.
Cancellation: Your paid features will remain active until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for the remaining portion of a billing period. After your subscription ends, your listing reverts to the free tier with basic information only. Premium and Pro Website content (custom descriptions, photos, website pages) is retained for 90 days after cancellation in case you choose to resubscribe.
Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' written notice. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

The PewSearch website, including its design, code, directory structure, search functionality, and branding, is owned by ChurchWiseAI LTD and is protected by copyright and trademark law.
Our content
The directory compilation, website design, and all PewSearch-branded materials are our intellectual property.
Your content
Photos, descriptions, logos, sermon videos, and other materials you upload to your Premium Page or Pro Website remain your property. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on your church's directory page or hosted website for as long as your subscription is active.
Church data
Basic church listing information (name, address, denomination) is publicly available factual data and is not exclusively owned by any party.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to creating fake listings, scraping directory data, or engaging in abusive behavior. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination unless immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users. Upon termination for cause, no refund will be issued for prepaid subscription fees.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that church listing information is accurate, complete, or up to date. Churches are responsible for keeping their claimed listings current. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. AI-generated chatbot responses are provided “as is” without any guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or theological correctness.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChurchWiseAI LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. This limitation applies to any claims arising from AI-generated content, including but not limited to inaccurate information, theological claims, or responses related to sensitive pastoral matters.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify paid subscribers by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
