Contact UsSt. Mary's Syrian Orthodox Church is the first Malankara Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) Church in Canada, located in Mississauga near Toronto, known as 'The Little Church with Big Blessings.' The church is under the spiritual authority of Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II and serves the Syrian Orthodox community.
Our Faith
We believe in one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and of one essence. The Holy Trinity is the wellspring of all Christian life and worship.
We believe God the Son became flesh in Jesus Christ — fully God and fully human — for our salvation. The Incarnation is the central miracle of Christian faith.
We believe the purpose of salvation is theosis — union with God. Through the sacraments, prayer, and ascetic practice, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ and participate in divine life.
We believe in the unity of Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition as one Revelation, preserved and interpreted by the Church through the Holy Spirit.
We celebrate the seven Holy Mysteries (sacraments) of the Church — including the Eucharist, Baptism, Chrismation, Confession, Holy Orders, Marriage, and Holy Unction — as means of divine grace and transformation.

Visiting Our Parish
On-site parking is available at the church on Tedlo Street for those arriving by car. If the lot is full on busy feast days, nearby street parking is generally accessible.
Children are a cherished part of the parish family. St. Mary's runs a Sunday School and a Balasamajam & Youth Association, so young visitors have a welcoming place to learn and grow alongside the congregation.
First-time visitors are warmly welcomed at "The Little Church With Big Blessings." Simply arrive a few minutes early, find a seat, and a parishioner will be glad to help you follow along — no prior experience with Orthodox worship is needed. The vicar, Rev. Fr. Kurians Mathew, and members are happy to greet you.
The church aims to welcome all worshippers. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact the parish office ahead of your visit at 905-270-8000 so arrangements can be made to help you participate fully.
Fellowship is an important part of parish life, and visitors are typically invited to stay after the Holy Qurbono for refreshments and conversation — a chance to meet the priest and members of the congregation.
