St. Luke's Episcopal Church is a thriving faith community in Rochester, Minnesota, dedicated to building a beloved community through worship, spiritual growth, and service to others. They believe in inclusivity and welcome people of all backgrounds.
Our Faith
We ground our faith in the three-legged stool of Anglican theology: Holy Scripture as the revealed Word of God, the Tradition of the Church through the ages, and Reason as the gift by which we interpret and apply God's truth. These three together guide our understanding and practice of the Christian faith.
Our common life is shaped by the promises of the Baptismal Covenant from the Book of Common Prayer. We commit to proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ, to seek and serve Christ in all persons, and to strive for justice and peace among all people, respecting the dignity of every human being.
All that we do is centered in the worship of God. Following the Anglican tradition, we gather around Word and Sacrament, finding in liturgy and the Eucharist the source and summit of our common life as the Body of Christ.
We affirm that the ministry of the laity is essential to the life of the Church. Every baptized person is called to ministry in the world, and the work of the church is owned by all who gather around teams and working groups to build ministries that meet the needs of God's people.

We understand the Church as participating in God's ongoing mission to reconcile all people to God and to one another in Christ. We seek to be open to new ideas and opportunities for joining more fully in this work of reconciliation and restoration in the world.
We place a high value on lifelong Christian formation, believing that growing in the knowledge and love of God is a journey for every age and stage of life. Through study, prayer, and community, we equip people of all ages to follow Jesus Christ more faithfully.
We strive to be a community of joy — forgiven, healed, renewed, and empowered for ministry by the Holy Spirit. As followers of Jesus Christ, we seek to love our neighbors as ourselves and to be a safe and welcoming place where all of God's people are encouraged to grow into the people God calls them to be.
