Our Faith
We accept all 66 books of the Bible as God's inerrant, verbally inspired Word. Scripture is the unchanging, error-free Word of God and the only source of spiritual life, serving as our guide in everything we think, say, and do.
We believe that all people are sinners and cannot reach Heaven by their own efforts. God demands perfection, and because we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory, we deserve both physical death and eternal death in Hell.
We believe God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the punishment we deserve. Salvation is a gift of God's grace received through faith in Jesus as Savior—not earned by works—so that no one can boast.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, sent by the Father out of love for the world. He bore the punishment for sin so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life, and all of Scripture centers on Him.
We believe faith itself is a gift from God, received through hearing the message of Christ. God speaks through His Word, working confidence in His teaching in our hearts and assuring us of what we cannot see.
We believe our lives have meaning because of God's love for us, and we can now live life to the full. Created in Christ Jesus to do good works, we live for God's glory and trust that He hears and answers our prayers.

Visiting Our Parish
Free parking is available in the church lot. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to find a spot and get settled before the service begins.
Children of all ages are warmly welcomed in worship — we cherish the connection between Christ and his lambs of all ages. Sunday School and age-appropriate Christian education are offered for kids alongside the regular service.
Whether you're looking for a church family or just checking us out, you'll be greeted with open arms. Since 1863, St. John's Lutheran of Two Rivers has welcomed newcomers as part of a growing, caring family rooted in the inerrant Word of God. A greeter can help you find a seat, a bulletin, and answer any questions.
The sanctuary is accessible for those with mobility needs, and ushers are glad to help with seating, large-print bulletins, or any other accommodation. Please ask a greeter if you need assistance.
Coffee and fellowship are typically offered before or after the service — a relaxed chance to meet members and ask the pastor any questions you may have.

We are a member congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), holding to the historic confessional Lutheran teaching that Scripture alone is the source and norm of doctrine. We trust God's Word in its entirety rather than picking and choosing which portions to accept.
