Our Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation, and is the rule and guide for faith and Christian living.
We believe in one God revealed in three persons: God our Father, Christ our Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit our Comforter. This historic affirmation stands at the heart of African Methodist Episcopal faith and worship.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who lived, died, and rose again for the salvation of humankind. Through His grace, received by faith, all people are offered forgiveness and new life.
We believe that all are justified freely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and are called to grow in holiness through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We observe the two sacraments ordained by Christ: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are visible signs of God's grace and means by which our faith is strengthened and confirmed.

Visiting Our Parish
Parking is available for guests at the church, located at 701 SW Topeka Blvd in downtown Topeka. If you have any questions about where to park, feel free to call the church ahead of your visit.
Children and youth are welcomed and valued. Church School at 9:30 a.m. offers a class for everyone, and the Young People's Division (YPD) holds its own worship on the 4th Sunday, giving young people a meaningful place in the life of the church.
First-time guests are received with the warm hospitality that marks the AME tradition. Simply arrive for the 11:00 a.m. service, introduce yourself to a greeter or usher, and they will help you feel at home; those interested in joining can take part in the New Members Orientation and Class.
Sunday Morning Worship at 11:00 a.m. is offered both in person and live on Zoom, so you can join in the way that works best for you. If you have specific accessibility needs, please call the church at (785) 233-3656 and the staff will be glad to assist.
Fellowship and hospitality are central to AME church life, and you can expect a friendly welcome and time to connect with members before or after worship. The congregation also gathers for special times of fellowship such as the quarterly Love Feast.
