Founded in 1906 from a muddy wash by a small band of faithful laborers including Reynaldo Gustamente and Esederio Miranda who hand-made adobe bricksOriginally a Franciscan Mission Church; contains a rare wooden DePrado statue of St. Henry brought from Chicago to Mexico to Tucson to Buckeye in 1911, with only one other identical statue existing in MissouriRebuilt twice: first adobe church condemned after 50 years (1956), then rebuilt in red brick in 1947 by designer Manuel Cortez with parish donations and non-Catholic community supportMass initially celebrated in a private home with dirt floors and apple boxes for seats before the 1906 adobe church was builtCreated as a separate parish in the Diocese of Tucson on May 3, 1956 with its own pastor
