Scottsdale United Methodist Church is a welcoming, Christ-led community that invites all to worship and celebrate faith together.
Our Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the primary authority for Christian faith and practice. Following the Wesleyan tradition, we read Scripture in conversation with tradition, reason, and experience to guide our lives and worship.
We believe in one God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is our Creator, present and active in the world, drawing all people into relationship and love.
We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully human, who lived, died, and rose again for the salvation of the world. As a Christ-led community, we seek to follow His example of love, grace, and service.
We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. In the Wesleyan tradition we trust that God's prevenient grace reaches out to every person, justifying grace forgives, and sanctifying grace transforms us toward holiness of heart and life.
We practice the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion as visible signs of God's grace. The Lord's Table is open to all who seek to follow Christ, reflecting our welcoming and inclusive spirit.
