Contact UsSt. Philip's Anglican Church has been a welcoming community for almost 100 years in the current building, serving Montreal West, NDG, Lachine, Cote-St-Luc, and surrounding areas.
Our Faith
As an Anglican church, St. Philip's holds the Old and New Testaments to be the revealed Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation. Scripture is read and proclaimed in every service as the foundation for faith and life.
The church worships one God in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as confessed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. This historic faith shapes the congregation's prayer and praise.
St. Philip's centres its life on Jesus Christ, who died and rose again for the salvation of the world. The congregation marks this most fully through Holy Week and Easter, proclaiming 'He is Risen!'
Following Anglican tradition, the church administers the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Eucharist as outward and visible signs of God's grace. The Eucharist and Morning Prayer form the regular pattern of Sunday worship.
Worship rooted in the Anglican prayer-book tradition gathers the community Sunday by Sunday, including monthly Morning Prayer. The church believes that praying together — in person and online — builds and sustains the body of Christ.
