St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winona warmly welcomes everyone and emphasizes a community-oriented approach to worship and service, centered around the Holy Eucharist.
Our Faith
We believe in one God in three persons: God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth; Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord, who was crucified, died, rose again, and will come to judge the living and the dead; and the Holy Spirit. This faith is professed in the words of the Apostles' Creed.
Holy Scripture is our foundation, understood through tradition and reason, and contains all things necessary for salvation. Our worship is filled with Scripture from beginning to end, and we are called to read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest God's Word.
The Book of Common Prayer is both a treasure chest of devotional and teaching resources and the primary symbol of our unity. Though we are many and diverse, we come together in Christ through our shared worship and common prayer.
In baptism we renounce evil and renew our commitment to Jesus Christ, affirming the faith of the Apostles' Creed. We promise, with God's help, to continue in the apostles' teaching, the breaking of bread, and the prayers, and to persevere in resisting sin through repentance and return to the Lord.
We are called to proclaim the Good News of God in Christ by word and example, to seek and serve Christ in all persons, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. We strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being.
