Founded in 1921 as a mission church; purchased nine acres and established as a full parish in 1950Originally served by the Society of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.) priests from 1952-1989; staffed by Sisters of the Precious Blood who founded the schoolGrew from a mission to over 5,000 Sunday Mass attendees by 1959; new permanent church building dedicated by Bishop John Russell on March 21, 1970Operates St. Anthony's School, established 1954, which grew to 1,070 students by 1959Serves a highly diverse, multicultural parish population with daily Spanish-language masses and bilingual programming reflecting Northern Virginia's changing demographics
