Our Faith
We believe that no amount of human effort can earn God's favor or eternal life. Out of love, God sent his Son Jesus Christ to live and die for us, offering forgiveness and salvation to the whole world as free gifts. Everyone who trusts in Christ as their Savior will be saved.
Our church's name comes from the heart of the gospel: Jesus Christ risen from the dead for the forgiveness of sins. We believe the gospel is the only way of salvation and put it to work in every facet of our ministry, because it is the message God uses to create faith and transform lives.
We believe that every word of the Bible is God's Word. We also believe the Bible is its own interpreter, letting Scripture speak for itself rather than approaching it with predetermined ideas. This approach to reading and understanding the Bible defines who we are.
We hold to the truths Martin Luther reclaimed for the church at the Reformation, summarized as sola gratia, sola fide, sola scriptura. Our salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Scripture alone.
The teachings Lutherans confess on the basis of God's Word are summarized in the Book of Concord of 1580. This collection of nine documents includes statements of faith that unite us with all Christians as well as statements that summarize what Lutherans specifically believe.

Visiting Our Parish
Free on-site parking is available at our 1755 Quacco Rd. location in Pooler. Arrive a few minutes early and a greeter can help you find your way in.
Children are wholeheartedly welcome in worship. At Risen Savior we're convinced church is exactly the place for kids—worshiping alongside their families and learning about Jesus' love—and we also offer a dedicated Children's Ministry.
On your first visit you can expect a warm welcome and a service that places the gospel in central focus through a historic Lutheran order of worship. The gospel here is not just information about what Jesus did to save sinners—it is the power God uses to work faith in our hearts and transform our lives.
Our facility is accessible to guests with mobility needs, including accessible parking and entrances. If you need any accommodation, let a greeter know and we'll be glad to help.
