The Church of the Messiah (Anglican) seeks to transform lives by offering a rich encounter with the living God. They gather for worship every Sunday morning and have been serving the neighborhood of Toronto for more than 125 years.
Our Faith
The Church of the Messiah seeks to transform lives by offering a rich encounter with the living God. Worship is understood as the place where the congregation meets God and is renewed for life and service.
As an Anglican parish, the church holds the Bible as the inspired Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation. Scripture is read, preached, and explored together — sermons are followed by open discussion.
The church worships one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It affirms the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds, shared across the Anglican Communion.
The congregation celebrates the fullness of Anglican-style worship, including the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion as outward signs of God's grace. Beautiful music and liturgy shape the community's common prayer.
The Church of the Messiah believes the love of God extends to all people and explicitly welcomes 2SLGBTQ+ people into the full life of the church. All are invited to belong, worship, and grow in faith together.
