Built in 1843, this cathedral is known for its Romanesque revival architecture made of coral blocks.
Our Faith
We believe in one God in three divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This mystery of the Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and life, professed in the Nicene Creed at every Mass.
We believe God's revelation is handed on through both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, interpreted authoritatively by the Magisterium of the Church. Together they form one sacred deposit of the Word of God entrusted to the Church.
We believe that in the celebration of the Mass, the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life and the heart of our worship as a Catholic parish.
We believe Christ instituted seven sacraments—Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony—as efficacious signs of grace. Through them God sanctifies his people at every stage of life.
We honor Mary, the Mother of God and Our Lady of Peace, as the first disciple and intercessor for the Church. With her and all the saints, we are united in the communion of saints who pray for and with us before God.
