Ascension Lutheran Church welcomes all and focuses on reaching beyond their walls to serve the community and proclaim Christ's unconditional love through various ministries.
Our Faith
As a Lutheran congregation, Ascension holds the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source and norm for faith and life. Scripture reveals God's love and points to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Following the core Lutheran confession, the church believes people are saved by God's grace alone, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by works. This grace is offered freely as an expression of Christ's unconditional love for all.
The congregation takes its name from Christ's bodily ascension into heaven (Mark 16:19-20; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:6-11). It proclaims Jesus as crucified, risen, and ascended Lord who continues to send his people into the world.
As an ELCA congregation, Ascension affirms Holy Baptism and Holy Communion as means of grace instituted by Christ, through which God forgives sin and strengthens faith. The sacraments are central to the church's worship life.
The church believes Christ has called it together to be a welcoming community that reaches beyond its walls. It is committed to sharing Christ's compassion and proclaiming his unconditional love for all people.
