Plan Your Visit →St. Mary's Episcopal Church in-the-Highlands is dedicated to being Christ's eyes, hands, and heart in the world, inviting all to worship and partake in their community activities.
Our Faith
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God and contains all things necessary for salvation. Scripture is read, studied, and interpreted within the worshiping community, guided by reason and the church's tradition.
We worship one God in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We affirm the historic faith of the church as expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds, confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, crucified, risen, and ascended.
We hold Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist as the two great sacraments given by Christ. The Eucharist, celebrated at our Sunday Mass, is the central act of worship in which the people of God are nourished by Christ's body and blood.
Our life together is shaped by the Book of Common Prayer, which unites us with Anglicans throughout the world. We believe that worshiping God together — in word, sacrament, and the rhythm of the church year — forms us as Christ's people.
We believe every person is created in the image of God and is beloved. At St. Mary's all people are welcomed, loved, affirmed, included, and celebrated, regardless of background — there is a place for everyone at God's table.
