Simpson United Methodist Church is a Christ-centered refuge that nurtures spiritual growth, empowers families, and connects with our community.
Our Faith
We confess faith in one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We affirm the biblical witness to God's activity in creation, God's gracious self-involvement throughout history, and the promised consummation of God's reign.
At the heart of the gospel is God's incarnation in Jesus of Nazareth. Through his life and teachings, his atoning death, his resurrection, and his promised return, God's redeeming love triumphs over the powers of evil and death, and through faith in him we are forgiven and reconciled to God.
God's redemptive love is realized in human life by the activity of the Holy Spirit, both in personal experience and in the community of believers. The Spirit has brought the church into existence for the healing of the nations, and through it we are conformed to Christ in adoration, proclamation, and service.
We are initiated and incorporated into the community of faith by Baptism, receiving the promise of the Spirit that re-creates and transforms us. Through the regular celebration of Holy Communion, we participate in the risen presence of Jesus Christ and are nourished for faithful discipleship.
We recognize the authority of Scripture in matters of faith and confess that our justification as sinners is by grace through faith. We also hold the sober realization that the church stands in need of continual reformation and renewal.

We recognize that the reign of God is both a present and future reality. The church is called to be the place where the first signs of God's reign are identified in the world, and we look in hope to the end in which God's work will be fully accomplished.
With all Christians we declare the essential oneness of the church in Christ Jesus, confessing one holy, catholic, and apostolic church as affirmed in the historic creeds. As partners in the ecumenical fellowship, we embrace and examine our distinctive Methodist heritage.
