Plan Your Visit โSaint Peter's Episcopal Church is a community called to love, worship, proclaim, and serve, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds and emphasizing compassion and inclusiveness.
Our Faith
Worship at St. Peter's is centered on the Holy Eucharist, celebrated each Sunday in both the traditional Rite I and contemporary Rite II forms. As an Episcopal parish, the church believes the sacrament of bread and wine is the principal act of Christian worship and a true means of God's grace.
St. Peter's believes the Lord's Table belongs to Christ, not to the church, so all people are welcome to receive Holy Communion whether or not they are Episcopalian. This open invitation reflects a conviction that God's grace is freely offered to everyone who comes seeking it.
The parish holds that every person is created in the image of God and is welcomed without exception, valuing inclusiveness, compassion, and warm hospitality. Newcomers, longtime members, children, and visitors alike are received as full members of the church family.
Following the Episcopal tradition, St. Peter's worships through the shared liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer, uniting the congregation in common words and sacred symbols. Music, scripture, and prayer together form a spiritual home where faith is nurtured in community.

Visiting Our Parish
Parking is available on-site at 165 Main Street in Buzzards Bay, with additional street parking nearby. Greeters can help direct you if you have questions on arrival.
Children are valued as an important part of our church family and are warmly welcomed in worship. Families with little ones are always welcome in the sanctuary.
Plan to arrive a few minutes before the service begins. An usher will greet you at the entrance to the sanctuary and hand you a leaflet detailing the specifics of the service. There are no assigned seats โ you're encouraged to choose any pew you'd like. The leaflet will help you follow along, and you do not need to be an Episcopalian to feel at home here.
St. Peter's strives to be a welcoming place for everyone. If you have specific accessibility needs, an usher or member of the clergy will be glad to assist you when you arrive.
After the service, visitors are invited to stay for coffee hour and fellowship โ a relaxed chance to meet parishioners and clergy and get to know our church family.

As part of the Episcopal Church and the wider Anglican Communion, the parish professes faith in one God โ Father, Son, and Holy Spirit โ as confessed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. This historic Christian faith is the foundation of the church's worship and life.
St. Peter's affirms the Episcopal understanding of the Bible as the Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation. Scripture is read, proclaimed, and interpreted within the worshiping community as a guide for faith and daily living.
