St. Paul's UMC welcomes all people with open hearts, minds, and doors, emphasizing community, faith, and service while supporting social justice traditions.
Our Faith
We believe every person is created in the Divine image and is of sacred worth, loved by God and welcomed by Jesus. Accordingly, we joyfully receive people of all ages, races, abilities, backgrounds, sexual orientations, and cultural and gender identities into our community of faith.
We believe Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This twofold commandment shapes how we live, worship, and serve together.
Rooted in the Wesleyan tradition, we cultivate a 'thinking' faith that engages scripture, tradition, reason, and experience in preaching and teaching. Questions are welcome and explored through honest group dialogue and broad-based theological learning.
We believe God is encountered through vibrant worship and spiritual practice. Retreats like the Walk to Emmaus, camping ministries, and the celebration of creation deepen our experience of the Divine.
Grounded in the Mainline Protestant social justice tradition, we believe faith is lived through hands-on service locally, nationally, and internationally. We partner with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the YWCA, and UMCOR to love our neighbors in tangible ways.
