Contact UsLa Paroisse Saint-Jean-Baptiste d'Ottawa est une communauté chrétienne marquée par la tradition de l’Ordre des frères dominicains, cherchant à approfondir la foi des membres et à la partager autour d'eux.
Our Faith
We believe that God's revelation is handed on through both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, which together form one deposit of faith entrusted to the Church.
We believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist — that the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Christ at the Consecration.
We celebrate seven sacraments instituted by Christ: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony — each a channel of divine grace.
We believe the Catholic Church is the Body of Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit and led by the successor of Peter. Outside the Church, salvation is difficult but not impossible for those who seek God sincerely.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the Last Judgement, and the hope of eternal life in communion with God.

Visiting Our Parish
Street parking is generally available around the church on Empress Avenue. Arriving a few minutes early gives you time to find a spot and settle in.
Children are warmly welcomed at every liturgy. The parish offers a Family Mass each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. (Messe familiale), a celebration designed especially with children in mind.
Visitors of every background and conviction are warmly welcomed. Masses are celebrated in French; arrive a little early and a parishioner will be glad to help you feel at home.
The parish seeks to be available to everyone. Those unable to attend Mass because of illness or age can receive communion at home — call 613-232-7363 ext. 0 to arrange a visit.
Parishioners often gather for fellowship after Mass — a relaxed, friendly chance to meet the community and ask any questions you may have.
