Contact UsA community gathered around the love of Jesus and sent into the world to serve since 1886, with a tagline of Receive-Grow-Give.
Our Faith
We believe in one God — creator and sustainer of all things — who is love, justice, and grace. God is knowable and invites every person into relationship.
We believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior — fully God, fully human — who died for our sins and rose again. Through faith in Him, we are forgiven and given new life.
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, guiding us into truth, empowering us for ministry, and shaping us into the likeness of Christ.
We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word — the primary authority for our faith and practice. We read it together, asking the Spirit to illuminate its meaning for our lives.
We believe the church is the gathered people of God — called to worship, serve one another, and share the love of Christ with the world.
Visiting Our Parish
Free parking is available at the church in downtown Verona, and you're welcome to arrive a few minutes early so a greeter can help you find your way.
Children and families are warmly welcomed. St. James offers Sunday School, Confirmation, youth ministry, and Vacation Bible School, along with the on-site St. James Preschool. A nursery is available for little ones during worship.
We can't wait to meet you. As we like to say, 'At St. James we are not perfect, we are forgiven — we are not important and powerful, we are loved.' Worship is offered Saturday at 5:00 pm and Sunday at 8:30 and 10:45 am at 427 South Main Street in downtown Verona. Feel free to introduce yourself to a greeter or to Pastor Peter Narum, who would be glad to welcome you personally.
The church is accessible to visitors with mobility needs, and members or ushers are happy to assist so everyone can worship comfortably. Please let a greeter know if you need any accommodation.
Following worship, you're invited to stay for fellowship and conversation over coffee — a relaxed time to meet members and ask questions, including the 'Sunday Morning Conversations' gatherings.
