New Castle Presbyterian Church is one of the oldest Presbyterian churches in the United States, providing an active Christian witness and presence in the historic town of New Castle, Delaware, for more than three centuries.
Our Faith
We believe in God, the Creator of the universe. As Presbyterians and Christians, our faith centers on knowing and following the one true God revealed in Scripture.
We believe Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God on earth. Through his crucifixion the forgiveness of sin is made possible, and through his resurrection we are given the hope of life everlasting.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the presence of God at work in the world and within every believer, guiding and sustaining the life of faith.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, through which God still speaks and guides his people today.
We believe the Church is the universal company of Christ's followers. Each Presbyterian congregation elects elders (from the Greek 'presbuteros') from among its members to lead in mission and service.

Your First Visit
Free parking is available near the church at 25 E 2nd Street in historic New Castle; on-street and nearby lot parking is generally easy to find on Sunday mornings.
Nursery care is provided for children ages 0 to 3. Younger worshipers through Grade 5 begin worship with us, share in the 'Scripture Conversation' with the Pastor, and then go to Sunday School.
Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:30 am. We follow a fairly traditional worship order, but we are not formal or inflexible about it. We greet one another with contagious enthusiasm and with Christ's Peace as the service begins, so you'll be welcomed the moment you arrive.
We worship in a historic building and gladly welcome everyone; if you have specific accessibility needs, please reach out ahead of your visit and we'll be glad to help you feel at home.
Hospitality and fellowship are part of who we are, and you're invited to stay after worship for refreshments and conversation as you get to know our church family.

We recognize two sacraments described in the Bible: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism unites us with Christ and welcomes us into God's family as a public confession of faith, and we share the Lord's Supper to remember Jesus' life-giving love and renew our commitment to follow him.
