Plan Your Visit →The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a caring community, anchored in Christ, reaching out to all people, serving Red Deer and the surrounding area since 1985.
Our Faith
We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own works. Anchored in Christ, this gift of grace calls us to serve God and our neighbours.
We proclaim the gospel of Christ as revealed in the Bible, the inspired Word of God. Scripture, alongside the Sacraments, stands at the very centre of our life together.
We hold to the historic confessions of faith of the Lutheran Reformation, especially the Augsburg Confession of 1530 and Martin Luther's Small Catechism. These confessions guide our understanding of the gospel and how it is taught.
We desire a true balance of Christ shared in the Word and in the Sacraments at every service of the Lord's Day. The means of grace are received week by week as the heart of our worship.
We worship in accordance with the liturgical traditions handed down, renewed, and adapted by Christians through many centuries. This connects our congregation to the historic worship of the whole Church.
