Hopewell United Methodist Church has been rooted in the community of Chester County, PA for over 200 years, committed to helping Christians grow and growing Christians. It is known for its extensive involvement in missions and outreach.
Our Faith
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the inspired and inerrant Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation. Scripture is the primary authority for Christian life and teaching.
We believe God's grace goes before us, enabling all people to respond to His call. No one is beyond the reach of God's love, and all may be saved through repentance and faith.
We believe in justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and in entire sanctification — the work of the Holy Spirit that cleanses the heart and empowers holy living.
We practice the means of grace Wesley identified: Scripture reading, prayer, fasting, Holy Communion, and Christian conferencing — all as channels through which God works in us.
We believe there is no holiness but social holiness. Our faith calls us outward in service to the poor, the marginalized, and the broken — following the pattern of Jesus.
Your First Visit
You'll find specially designated parking spaces for visitors in the lot adjacent to the main building.
All children, regardless of age, are welcome to worship alongside their parents. Sunday school, junior church, and nursery care are also available for families who prefer them.
Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome to travel the path with us. Come as you are, join the celebration of God's mighty, unconditional love, and look for our greeters who would be glad to help you find your way.
Our building is wheelchair accessible, and we warmly welcome service dogs.
