Contact UsHoly Trinity Orthodox Church is an Eastern Orthodox parish in Smoky Lake, Alberta, part of the Orthodox Church in America's Archdiocese of Canada. The church was founded by Slavic immigrants from Bukovina and Galicia in the early 1900s and maintains a strong connection to Orthodox tradition and heritage.
Our Faith
We believe in one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and of one essence. The Holy Trinity is the wellspring of all Christian life and worship.
We believe God the Son became flesh in Jesus Christ — fully God and fully human — for our salvation. The Incarnation is the central miracle of Christian faith.
We believe the purpose of salvation is theosis — union with God. Through the sacraments, prayer, and ascetic practice, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ and participate in divine life.
We believe in the unity of Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition as one Revelation, preserved and interpreted by the Church through the Holy Spirit.
We celebrate the seven Holy Mysteries (sacraments) of the Church — including the Eucharist, Baptism, Chrismation, Confession, Holy Orders, Marriage, and Holy Unction — as means of divine grace and transformation.
