Contact UsThe Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Community of Thunder Bay welcomes individuals to grow in their faith and community practices through various programs and services.
Our Faith
We believe in one God in three Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — one in essence and undivided. This confession of the Holy Trinity, for whom our community is named, is the foundation of the Orthodox Christian faith.
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became fully human for our salvation. Through His Crucifixion and Resurrection He conquered death and opened the way to eternal life for all humanity.
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is received and rightly understood within the living Tradition of the Church, together with the teachings of the Church Fathers and the Ecumenical Councils.
We believe the fullness of the Christian faith is preserved through Holy Tradition — the Scriptures, the Ecumenical Councils, the writings of the Fathers, and the worship of the Church — handed down unbroken from the Apostles to today.
We honor the Virgin Mary as the Theotokos, the Mother of God, who bore Christ into the world. She is venerated above all the saints as a model of faith and obedience, and her intercessions are sought on behalf of the faithful.

We believe God imparts His grace through the Holy Mysteries of the Church — Baptism, Chrismation, the Holy Eucharist, Confession, Marriage, Holy Unction, and Ordination. These sacraments unite the faithful to Christ and sustain them in the life of the Church.
We venerate holy icons as sacred images of Christ, the Theotokos, and the saints. Icons serve as windows into heaven that draw worshippers into prayer, and the honor shown to them is directed to the persons they depict.
