Firth Bible Church is a small, multi-generational congregation in Firth, Nebraska with a long community history, distinctive for its verse-by-verse Bible teaching that emphasizes God's word in context and aims to grow love among believers and the community.
Our Faith
There is one God, the holy and sovereign Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. From eternity He has graciously purposed to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.
God speaks in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments through human authors. As the verbally inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error in the original writings, is the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and is the ultimate authority by which all of life is to be judged—believed in all it teaches, obeyed in all it requires, and trusted in all it promises.
God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. As a result, all people are sinners by nature and by choice, dead in sin, alienated from God, and unable to come to Him in faith apart from His effective call—rescued, reconciled, and renewed only through the saving work of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified as the perfect, all-sufficient substitutionary sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate—His death and resurrection the only ground for salvation.

In all He does, the Holy Spirit glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates sinners, baptizes them into union with Christ at the moment of salvation, and indwells, illuminates, guides, equips, and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.
Salvation is God's work from start to finish. His sovereignty does not violate human freedom—when God gives a new heart, the renewed will freely responds in faith. God commands everyone everywhere to turn to Him in repentance and trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross to pay the penalty for sin.
The true church comprises all who have been justified by God's grace through faith alone in Christ alone, united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. This church is made visible in local congregations whose membership is composed solely of believers.
