Our Faith
We are guided by the "three-legged stool" of Scripture, Tradition, and Reason. The Bible is primary; the Church's tradition and human reason illuminate its meaning for each generation.
We affirm the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed as faithful summaries of the Christian faith. They unite us with Christians across centuries and denominations.
We celebrate Baptism and the Eucharist as the two sacraments ordained by Christ. The Lord's Supper is the central act of Anglican worship — we are fed by Christ's body and blood.
Our worship is shaped by the Book of Common Prayer — a treasury of Scripture, prayer, and liturgy that forms us in the faith and unites Anglicans worldwide.
We stand as a "middle way" — holding together Catholic order, evangelical faith, and Reformed theology. We welcome all to the table of grace in a spirit of generous orthodoxy.
Visiting Our Parish
Christ Church is located at 220 Main St., South Amboy, NJ. Parking is available on and around Main Street; please allow a few extra minutes on your first visit to find a spot and get settled.
Children are always welcome in worship, and a Sunday School program is offered for their faith formation. You should never feel that a wiggle or a whisper is a problem here.
First-time guests are warmly welcomed—simply arrive a few minutes early and a greeter or usher can help you find a seat and a service bulletin. The bulletin guides you through every part of the liturgy, so there's no need to know the service in advance.
We strive to make worship welcoming to all. If you have specific accessibility needs—seating, hearing assistance, or building access—please reach out ahead of your visit at 732-721-6262 and we'll be glad to help.
Following worship, you're invited to stay for coffee hour and fellowship. It's a relaxed chance to meet parishioners and clergy and ask any questions about the parish.
