Central Presbyterian Church is a community of disciples of Jesus Christ who come together in central Atlanta to worship, serve, and be nurtured by God. We proclaim the Gospel and are dedicated to social justice.
Our Faith
We believe Scripture is the inspired Word of God and the authoritative witness to God's revelation in Jesus Christ. In the Reformed tradition, we read and interpret the Bible together as a living word that continues to speak, guide, and form the faith and life of the church.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is sovereign, gracious, and at work creating, redeeming, and sustaining the whole creation.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, crucified and risen for the salvation of the world. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and following him shapes how we love God and neighbor.
We believe salvation is the free gift of God's grace, received through faith and not earned by our own works. God's steadfast love claims us, forgives us, and calls us into new life.
We celebrate two sacraments instituted by Christ—Baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are visible signs of God's grace that incorporate us into the body of Christ and nourish us for discipleship.
