The Bread of Life (BOL) was started in 1992 by a group of volunteers who wanted to be in service to others as an expression of their faith, assisting people through acts of compassion while helping them care for themselves and their families.
Our Faith
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the inspired and inerrant Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation. Scripture is the primary authority for Christian life and teaching.
We believe God's grace goes before us, enabling all people to respond to His call. No one is beyond the reach of God's love, and all may be saved through repentance and faith.
We believe in justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and in entire sanctification — the work of the Holy Spirit that cleanses the heart and empowers holy living.
We practice the means of grace Wesley identified: Scripture reading, prayer, fasting, Holy Communion, and Christian conferencing — all as channels through which God works in us.
We believe there is no holiness but social holiness. Our faith calls us outward in service to the poor, the marginalized, and the broken — following the pattern of Jesus.
