St. Nicholas Episcopal Church is a vibrant church with an intimate, reverent style of worship, focused on outreach and community support.
Our Faith
We believe the Bible contains all things necessary for salvation and is the revealed Word of God, to be read, marked, and inwardly digested. As an Episcopal parish in the Anglican tradition, we interpret Scripture together with the guidance of tradition and reason, and our Christian Education programs help people of all ages grow in faith rooted in God's Word.
We believe the Eucharist (Holy Communion) is the central act of Christian worship, in which Christ is truly present and the gathered community is nourished by his Body and Blood. We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday and welcome all to share in this sacrament of grace.
We worship one God in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as confessed in the historic Nicene and Apostles' Creeds. Our reverent, liturgical worship is offered in praise of the Triune God revealed in Jesus Christ.
We believe Holy Baptism is full initiation into the Body of Christ and his Church. Through our Baptismal Covenant we promise to seek and serve Christ in all persons, to strive for justice and peace, and to respect the dignity of every human being.
We believe the Church is called to be warm, inviting, and inclusive, where all people are received as beloved children of God. We share one another's joys and sorrows each week, living as 'the church with the big heart' and inviting everyone into the life of worship and fellowship.
