St. Francis Xavier Parish is a large and diverse Catholic community in Stoney Creek, established in 1947. They strive to serve Christ in others and worship the Lord with gratitude.
Our Faith
We believe that in the celebration of the Mass, Jesus Christ becomes truly present — body, blood, soul, and divinity — under the appearances of bread and wine. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life, celebrated daily and on every Lord's Day.
We believe Christ instituted seven sacraments — Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony — as visible signs of God's grace. Through these sacraments, the faithful are united to Christ and strengthened on their journey of faith.
We believe that through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, God's mercy and forgiveness are extended to those who repent of their sins. Confession is offered regularly at our parish so the faithful can encounter Christ's healing love and be restored in their relationship with God and the Church.
We profess the faith of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church in communion with the Bishop of Rome and our local Bishop in the Diocese of Hamilton. We hold to the teachings handed down through Scripture and Sacred Tradition as faithfully interpreted by the Magisterium.

Visiting Our Parish
On-site parking is available at the parish at 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek. Arrive a few minutes early on Sundays, as the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses tend to fill the lot.
Families with children are warmly welcomed at every Mass — little ones are part of our parish family. The parish is connected with several local Catholic elementary schools and offers Youth Ministry led by Ms. Wes Moga.
First-time visitors are encouraged to come a few minutes early, sit anywhere that feels comfortable, and follow along with the congregation. Non-Catholics are welcome to attend Mass but are asked to refrain from receiving Communion; you may come forward with arms crossed for a blessing instead.
The parish building is accessible to those with mobility needs, with accommodations available for visitors using wheelchairs or walkers. Please contact the parish office at 905-662-8593 if you have specific accessibility questions before your visit.
Coffee and fellowship are often hosted in the Great Hall after select Masses and parish events. Check the bulletin or parish office for current hospitality offerings.

We honour the Blessed Virgin Mary and the communion of saints, asking for their intercession as we journey toward Christ. Our patron, St. Francis Xavier, models a life of humility, prayer, and missionary zeal that inspires our parish community.
Following the example of St. Francis Xavier, one of the greatest missionaries of all time, we are called to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and to serve others through acts of kindness and charity. We strive to serve Christ in our neighbours, especially those in need.
We believe in forming disciples of all ages through Catholic education and ongoing faith formation. Our parish supports a network of Catholic elementary schools and a secondary school, partnering with families to raise children in the fullness of the Catholic faith.
