St. Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Roman Catholic Parish is a Catholic parish located in Surrey, British Columbia, united in the Eucharist and the teachings of the Church. The community gathers for worship, prayer, and service to others.
Our Faith
We believe in One God in Three Divine Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinct yet united in one divine essence. This mystery of the Trinity is the foundation of our Catholic faith and worship.
We believe that in the Holy Qurbana (Divine Liturgy), the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is the center of our parish life and the source and summit of the Christian faith.
We hold Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition as the Word of God, handed down faithfully from the Apostles. As a Syro-Malabar Catholic community, we treasure our ancient East Syriac liturgical heritage, traced to the evangelization of St. Thomas the Apostle in India, while remaining in full communion with the Holy Father and the universal Catholic Church.
We believe the sacraments—Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony—are visible signs instituted by Christ that confer grace and sanctify every stage of life.
We honor the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Mother of God (Theotokos) and our spiritual mother, who intercedes for us before her Son. We also venerate the saints, including St. Alphonsa, our parish's patroness, as models of holiness and faithful companions in prayer.

Children's Liturgy of the Word is available for ages 4–10 during the Liturgy of the Word. Nursery at some Masses.
All are welcome to attend Mass. If you are Catholic and in a state of grace, you are welcome to receive Communion.
The church is wheelchair-accessible. Assisted-listening devices and large-print missals available on request.
