Contact UsSanctuaire du Cap de la Madeleine à Trois-Rivières serves as a spiritual lighthouse and a place of peace, focusing on nurturing faith and community engagement.
Our Faith
The community believes that Jesus Christ is truly present — body, blood, soul, and divinity — in the consecrated bread and wine of the Mass. The celebration of the Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life, and Christ's presence is honored through Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
As a Marian shrine dedicated to Our Lady of the Cape, the community honors Mary as the Mother of God and the first disciple of Christ. Through prayer of the Rosary and pilgrimage, the faithful entrust their intentions to her intercession, which always draws hearts closer to her Son, Jesus.
The community believes the sacraments are visible signs instituted by Christ that communicate God's grace. It celebrates the Eucharist, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance), and the Anointing of the Sick as channels of healing, forgiveness, and spiritual strength.
The community proclaims that God is rich in mercy and freely forgives those who turn to him with a repentant heart. Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sinners receive pardon and are restored to communion with God and the Church.

Visiting Our Parish
Free on-site parking is available for visitors and pilgrims, including a dedicated RV stop (Halte VR) for those traveling by motorhome. The grounds are large, so allow a few minutes to walk from the lot to the basilica.
Children of all ages are welcome at Mass and on the shrine grounds. The Sanctuaire has a youth ministry presence (Cap-Jeunesse), and the spacious gardens and outdoor stations make it a comfortable place for families.
First-time visitors and pilgrims are warmly welcomed. Arrive a little early to find parking and get oriented — you can pick up a Mass schedule, visit the basilica and the historic Petit Sanctuaire, light a votive candle, or simply walk the prayerful grounds. Staff and volunteers are glad to help if you have questions.
The Sanctuaire is a public pilgrimage site with accessible access to the grounds and basilica. If you have specific mobility needs, contact the shrine ahead of your visit (819 374-2441) and staff will be happy to assist.
A restaurant on the shrine grounds offers a place to eat and rest during your visit. There is also a gift shop (Boutique du Sanctuaire) and a museum to explore before or after Mass.

The community professes faith in one God in three divine Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This belief, expressed in the Creed and in all liturgical prayer, is the central mystery of the Christian faith and life.
The community believes the faithful on earth are united with the saints in heaven in one Body of Christ. Through the Liturgy of the Hours, the Rosary, and intercessory prayer, believers join their voices with the whole Church in worship and petition.
