Our Faith
St. Michael's affirms the Bible as the ultimate authority over the Church, a conviction rooted in its Reformational heritage. All of the church's doctrine and theology are derived from this Biblical foundation.
The church proclaims that salvation comes from Jesus Christ alone—by grace through faith. The Good News of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is central to its identity and mission.
Deeply rooted in Christian history, St. Michael's adheres to the ancient Creeds and Councils and the faith 'believed everywhere, always, by all.' It honors the liturgy and continuity of the earliest days of Christianity under the spiritual headship of its Bishop.
As part of the Anglican Diocese of the Upper Midwest, the church is committed to a revival of Word and Sacrament infused by the power of the Holy Spirit. Worship is anchored in the historic Book of Common Prayer.
St. Michael's draws together the evangelical, sacramental, and charismatic streams of the faith in its Sunday worship. It blends ancient and modern expressions—from historic hymns and chanting to contemporary songs—within the framework of the Book of Common Prayer.
