Our Faith
Primera Iglesia Bautista believes the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the trustworthy guide for faith and practice. As a Baptist congregation, the church looks to Scripture as the final rule for belief and conduct.
The church teaches that salvation is a gift of God's grace received through personal faith in Jesus Christ, not through works. Each person is called to respond individually to the Gospel.
Consistent with Baptist conviction, every believer has direct access to God and a personal responsibility to know and follow Christ, without need for human mediation.
Primera practices baptism by immersion for those who have made a personal profession of faith, symbolizing identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
The church believes in the local congregation as a body of baptized believers gathered to worship, pray, and serve together, as reflected in their 50 days of corporate prayer from Easter to Pentecost.
Primera affirms that every person is created in the image of God, and envisions a world where differences unite people because of this shared, God-given dignity.
