Karis Church is a gospel community on mission for the city and for the kingdom, focusing on the multiplication of disciples, leaders, Missional Communities, and churches.
Our Faith
Karis Church is committed to preaching the historic gospel of Jesus Christ — that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone — in a culturally relevant manner. As an Acts 29 and Gospel Coalition–aligned church, the gospel of God's grace is held as the center of all teaching, ministry, and mission.
Karis affirms the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, the final rule for faith and practice. This conviction is reflected in the church's endorsement of The Gospel Coalition Foundational Documents and the Together for the Gospel Statement.
Karis is baptistic in conviction and practice, holding that baptism by immersion is for those who have personally professed faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is understood as an outward sign of the believer's union with Christ in His death and resurrection.
Karis believes the local church is central to God's plan for His people and for reaching the world. The church holds to its Member and Elder Affirmations and is governed in a way that emphasizes shared life, accountability, and discipleship through gatherings, missional communities, and DNA groups.
As part of the Acts 29 church-planting network and a contributor to the missions work of the SBC, Karis believes the church is called to multiply by starting new gospel-preaching churches. Its vision is 'For the City, For the Kingdom,' partnering with local and global ministries to advance the mission of Jesus.
