First United Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian church in De Pere, Ontario, rooted in the Reformed tradition and committed to the sovereignty of God. The congregation gathers for worship, study, and service.
Our Faith
We believe God is absolutely sovereign over all things — creation, providence, and salvation. He works all things according to the counsel of His will for His glory.
We hold to the Reformed confession that Holy Scripture is the only infallible rule for faith and life. No tradition or church authority may stand above the Word of God.
We affirm the five solas of the Reformation. Salvation is entirely God's gracious gift, received through faith alone, grounded entirely in Christ's atoning work.
We understand God's relationship with His people through the biblical covenants. Baptism is a covenant sign for believers and their children, marking membership in the covenant community.
We are guided by the historic Reformed confessions — Westminster Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, or the Belgic Confession — as faithful summaries of biblical teaching.
Your First Visit
Parking is available on-site, with handicapped parking located at the front Webster Street entrance.
Children are warmly welcomed. Worship includes a brief "Time for Young Disciples," and Christian Education Sunday School classes (10:30am, September through May) are offered for ages three through high school. Youth groups CORE (grades 6-8) and JAM (grades 9-12) meet Sunday evenings at 6pm.
Our ushers are happy to assist with any questions, as are our Elders and Deacons—look for those wearing maroon or green name tags. Maps of the building floor plan are posted near each stairwell to help you find your way.
Our building is fully handicap-accessible. An elevator to the basement level is located adjacent to the Narthex inside the front Webster Street entrance, with handicapped parking and accessible restrooms at that entrance. Listening devices for hearing-impaired worshipers, as well as large-print Bibles and hymnals, are available—just ask one of our ushers.
Visitors are invited to stay for fellowship and refreshments, a wonderful chance to meet members of our congregation and feel at home.
