Our Faith
We believe in the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ, which is at the heart of our Reformed faith. We exist to know and share that grace as a worshiping, learning, caring, and serving community.
Our beliefs are shaped by the Reformed tradition that grew from the teachings of Protestant reformers such as John Calvin in 16th-century Geneva. We affirm the sovereignty of God and the centrality of God's grace in salvation.
As a Reformed congregation, we hold the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the witness to Jesus Christ and the rule of our faith and life. God's Word guides our worship, learning, and witness in the world.
We practice a representative form of church government, or polity, in which authority rests not in individuals but in councils of ministers and elected ruling elders. The word 'Presbyterian' comes from the Greek word for 'elder.'
We believe Jesus Christ calls us to an ethical responsibility to engage in issues of social justice. Our social witness moves us toward places of suffering and need to alleviate poverty, end violence, care for creation, and seek justice for all people.
