Our Faith
As an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation, we believe each person is created in God's image (Genesis 1:26) and is beloved by God. We welcome everyone of every age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ability, background, and life circumstance, boldly proclaiming, "No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here."
Gathered "under the Cross on the Hill," we center our common life in Jesus Christ and seek to share his unconditional love with one another and the world. We believe that love is inseparable from justice and peace.
We understand the historic creeds of the church to be testaments of faith rather than tests of faith. Our community honors freedom of conscience and welcomes differences in interpretation, trusting that we need not all believe alike to worship, learn, and serve together.
We seek God through the celebration of worship and a deeper understanding of our faith and mission in today's world. We practice spiritual formation for all ages and embrace the gifts of music and the arts as expressions of praise.
We believe faith is lived through action. With a strong emphasis on mission, outreach, and community service, we share a giving spirit that encompasses the larger community and reaches beyond our own walls.
