Our Faith
Dublin St. United Church affirms faith in God as Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, encountered through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit. As a congregation of The United Church of Canada, this trinitarian faith grounds its worship and community life.
The Bible is received as the foundational witness to God's relationship with humanity, read and interpreted in community through reason, tradition, and experience. Scripture is treated as a living word that continues to speak to each generation rather than a static rulebook.
The church believes God's grace extends to all people regardless of background, ability, sexual orientation, or life circumstance, reflecting the United Church of Canada's commitment to being an affirming and inclusive community of faith.
Following Jesus' example, the congregation believes faith must be expressed through social action, care for the vulnerable, and work for justice, peace, and the healing of creation, including partnership in refugee support and community outreach.
Baptism and Communion are observed as sacred means of grace that bind the community together in Christ, with worship understood as a communal act of praise, reflection, and spiritual formation open to all.
