Plan Your Visit →The Church of the Epiphany is the oldest Episcopal Church still in use in the Diocese of Los Angeles, welcoming all individuals in their spiritual journey while promoting justice and community.
Our Faith
The Church of the Epiphany celebrates Holy Communion (the Mass) as the central act of weekly worship, offered in both Spanish and English services. They hold a catholic (sacramental) understanding of the Eucharist as the true encounter with the living Christ.
As Episcopalians, the parish values the historic liturgy, sacraments, and prayer book tradition inherited from the wider Anglican and catholic Christian heritage, expressing it through both Spanish- and English-language worship.
The church believes that being the Body of Christ in the world means actively welcoming all people without exception—families, singles, divorced, LGBTQ, young and old, married and unmarried—regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.
Though composed of two distinct language congregations worshiping separately in Spanish and English, the parish believes they are one vital community united in Christ, reflecting the Church's call to unity across cultural and linguistic difference.
The congregation believes their purpose is to make manifest the Spirit of Christ being born in every heart and soul within their neighborhood, understanding the Christian life as participating in God's ongoing incarnation in the local community.

Drawing on the prophetic call of Micah 6:8, the church commits itself to doing justice, loving tenderly, and walking humbly with God as the practical outworking of its faith in daily parish life.
The parish believes in forming disciples across the lifespan, sustaining a full program of Christian education and youth ministry so that children and young people are nurtured in the faith alongside adults.
