Calvary Presbyterian Church is a small, vibrant Presbyterian congregation located in historic Wyncote, PA, embracing diversity of ages and religious backgrounds while focusing on feeding body, mind, and spirit.
Our Faith
We worship one sovereign God, eternally known as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the Reformed tradition we affirm God's majesty, grace, and providential care over all creation.
We believe the Bible is the written Word of God and the authoritative witness to Jesus Christ, guiding the faith and life of the church. Scripture is read and interpreted together as the Spirit illumines its meaning for today.
We confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God, crucified and risen, the only Lord and Savior of the world. Through him God reconciles us to himself and calls us into new life.
We hold the Reformed conviction that salvation is the free gift of God's grace, received through faith and not earned by human merit. God's electing love claims us before we ever turn to him.
We celebrate two sacraments instituted by Christ: Baptism, the sign of God's covenant grace, and the Lord's Supper, in which we are nourished by Christ's presence. Both proclaim the gospel and unite us to Christ and one another.
Each congregation is led by elders elected by the people and gathered as the Session, with the pastor serving as moderator. As part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbytery of Philadelphia, we live out a connectional faith shared across congregations.
