Bilberry Creek Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation serving Gatineau, Ontario. Grounded in biblical teaching and believer's baptism, this church community gathers for worship, fellowship, and outreach to the local community.
Our Faith
Bilberry Creek Baptist Church believes the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the final guide for faith and life. Disciples are called to 'think Biblically,' shaping every belief and decision around Scripture's teaching.
The church believes Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, and that a mature disciple's calling is to imitate Him in character and action. Following Christ is the pattern for Christian maturity and daily living.
Through the K.I.T.E. framework, the church teaches that maturity in Christ comes through knowing and loving God and neighbor, imitating Christ, thinking biblically, and being empowered by the Holy Spirit. Growth is viewed as a lifelong, ongoing discipline rather than a destination already reached.
The church believes believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live out their faith and grow as disciples. The Spirit's work is essential to Christian maturity and effective ministry.
The congregation values gathering weekly for collective worship and biblical teaching, and believes that spiritual growth happens best in community with other believers throughout the week. Each member takes personal responsibility for their own spiritual development.
The church believes in serving others with time, spiritual gifts, and finances as an expression of faith. Giving generously of oneself is seen as integral to Christian discipleship and love of neighbor.
Reflected in its 'Go' emphasis, the church believes Christians are called to carry their faith beyond the walls of the church into the world. Loving and reaching neighbors is part of living out a mature, Christ-imitating faith.
