Kevin Soodsma
Director Of Worship
Kevin Soodsma has been privileged, along with his wife Amy, to be part of the Beckwith Hills Church family since November 2006. He serves as the church's organist, worship team coordinator, and choir director, providing leadership for worship arts, worship technology, and music ministries. Kevin is passionate about helping the congregation worship God through a variety of artistic expressions. He works closely with musicians, vocalists, technical volunteers, and worship leaders to support meaningful and Christ-centered worship services. He welcomes anyone with gifts in singing, instrumental music, technology, dance, or visual arts to become involved in the worship ministry. Kevin's desire is to help people use their God-given talents to glorify God and encourage the church as together we "sing and make music from our hearts to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:19). Kevin serves as the Organist, Worship Planning Team, worship team leader, Visual Arts Team, Technology Coordinator, Ministry Leadership Team, Church Administration
WORSHIP
Our Worship Ministries offer many ways to use your gifts in service to God. Whether through singing, playing an instrument, worship technology, visual arts, or worship leadership, volunteers help create meaningful worship experiences for both in-person and online communities. No matter your skill level, there is a place for you to participate, grow, and serve.
DISCIPLESHIP
We offer discipleship opportunities for all ages to grow in faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus. Through Bible studies, small groups, prayer gatherings, and learning opportunities, we encourage believers to follow Christ, build meaningful relationships, and live out their faith in everyday life.
PRAYER
Prayer is at the heart of life at Beckwith Hills. We are committed to supporting one another through prayer, sharing burdens, and seeking God together. Opportunities include weekly prayer updates, congregational prayer in worship, prayer teams available for personal prayer, regular prayer gatherings, and dedicated prayer support for our church and community.
YOUTH
We are committed to helping Middle School and High School students grow in faith and build meaningful relationships. Youth group gatherings, kids and teens experience biblical teaching, fellowship, fun activities, and a welcoming environment where they can discover and follow Jesus.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Our Children's Ministry (birth–8th grade) provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children grow in faith, build friendships, and learn about God's love. Through Bible lessons, worship, games, crafts, and special events, we partner with families to help children follow Jesus and become part of God's family.
BECKWITH COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND & PAVILION
After listening to neighbors, police, and community leaders, we learned many children lacked a nearby playground. In partnership with the Beckwith Hills Neighborhood, we helped develop the playground and picnic tables, and a pavilion.

First Visit

Music Style
Our worship is a blended style led by a worship team made up of musicians of varying ages and skill levels. We joyfully incorporate both the organ and a contemporary worship band. Each service includes times of prayer and the preaching of God’s Word, and at various times throughout the year may also include communion, baptism, and other meaningful elements.
Service Length
Our worship services typically last about 60–70 minutes. Occasionally, a ministry report or the celebration of a sacrament may extend the service by a few minutes
