Our Faith
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, revealed most fully in Jesus Christ and made present to us through the Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully divine and fully human, the incarnate Son of God who lived, died on the cross, and rose from the dead for the salvation of the world. Through Christ we are reconciled to God and called to follow him as Lord.
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God and the primary authority for Christian faith and practice. Scripture is interpreted through the lens of tradition, reason, and experience — the Wesleyan Quadrilateral.
We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. In the Wesleyan tradition, we recognize prevenient grace that calls us, justifying grace that forgives us, and sanctifying grace that transforms us into the likeness of Christ.
We celebrate two sacraments instituted by Christ: Baptism and Holy Communion. Baptism is a sign of God's grace and incorporation into the Body of Christ, offered to people of all ages, while Holy Communion is an open table where all who seek to follow Christ are welcome.
We believe the Church is the community of all true believers under the Lordship of Christ, called to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. As a community church in Southwestern New Hampshire, we live this out through worship, fellowship, and ministries of compassion such as our food pantry.
Following John Wesley, we believe there is no holiness but social holiness — faith expressed through love of God and neighbor. We are called to grow in personal piety and to work for justice, mercy, and the common good in our community and the world.
