Our Faith
We join with all true believers in the Church Universal in proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ and embracing the historic Trinitarian creedal statements of the Christian faith. We worship one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We value our Wesleyan-Holiness heritage and believe it to be a way of understanding the faith that is true to Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience. This heritage shapes how we read the Bible and live out discipleship.
We believe that God, who is holy, calls believers to a life of holiness. The Holy Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace — called entire sanctification or the baptism with the Holy Spirit — cleansing us from all sin, renewing us in the image of God, and empowering us to love God and neighbor wholeheartedly.
Holiness in the life of the believer is most clearly understood as Christlikeness. The sanctifying work of the Spirit produces in us the very character of Christ, expressed in love for God and others.
We are a sent people, responding to the call of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to go into all the world. Our mission begins in worship, ministers to the world through evangelism and compassion, and encourages believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship (Matthew 28:19-20).
